James Guida was born in Philadelphia and grew up in Australia. He is the author of Marbles—a book of short prose, or of aphorisms—and of essays that have appeared in a range of magazines and websites, among them The New Yorker, The New York Review of Books, n+1, Orion, and Tin House. In 2011 he was awarded a fellowship in non-fiction from The New York Foundation for the Arts.
